Twitter limits the number of tweets you can read per day

Twitter owner Elon Musk has announced new limits to how much content users can view per day.

To address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits:

– Verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 posts/day
– Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day
– New unverified accounts to 300/day

According to Musk, the changes are an attempt to address “extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation.”

Initially, verified accounts were limited to viewing 6,000 tweets per day, while unverified accounts could view only 600. New unverified accounts maxed out at 300 posts viewed per day.

These limits have since been revised upward to 10,000 posts for verified accounts, 1,000 for unverified, and 500 for new unverified accounts.

That means if you created a new account last week to get around Twitter’s other recent change — now, only logged-in users can view tweets — you’ll have just a few minutes to scroll before hitting a “rate limit exceeded” notification.

NEWS: Twitter’s web version no longer allows users to browse without logging in. All urls redirect to the signup page.

There’s no word yet on how long these temporary limits will be in place.
